Art and Science: Using data to inform fundraising
It starts with curiosity – a question of what if? Eventually you start trusting your gut and testing it with data – a willingness to be wrong and to learn. Suddenly you’re able to predict revenue 3 years out with extreme accuracy. Data-based decision-making doesn’t mean that the fundraiser’s gut isn’t important; It’s about marrying data, metrics, and research with fundraising instincts to become more efficient. Kirk will take you through some of the ways that simple metrics, and data-based decisions, are being used to raise more money.
In three years, Kirk has used metrics to increase STARS’ annual giving by 30% and make significant changes to other revenue programs within the Foundation. As Director of Operations, he marries his background of mathematics with his knowledge of fundraising to provide analysis and guidance to the entire organization. He is an champion of using proper data and metrics in the charitable sector.
This special presentation qualifies for 1 CFRE continuing education point.
