JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Annual Campaign Manager, the Donor Engagement Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing a donor relations and stewardship plan. The components of YMCA Calgary’s fundraising strategy include an Annual Campaign, Major Gifts for Program and Capital, Sponsorship, Endowment Fund and Planned Giving. A key function of this position is to coordinate and support activities and meetings for all fundraising components. The purpose of this position is to fulfill the mission of the YMCA and to ensure that the work is in service to meeting community needs and delivering impact for the people we serve while instilling the Y’s core values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Plan and/or support execution of YMCA activities and events that provide opportunities for YMCA Calgary to educate and steward donors, potential donors and key partners, such as annual donor breakfast, Heritage Club (Endowment) Dinner, special events, and fundraisers such as golf tournaments.
- Develop, support and work closely with team members on a robust donor relationship and stewardship plans that align with philanthropic goals and supports a strong donor portfolio, including arranging visits, making thank you calls, gathering donor stories and delivering stewardship reports.
- Plan, organize and lead donor relations and stewardship for a portfolio of donors through donor impact reports and gift renewal strategies.
- Support planning and execution of monthly donor program.
- Develop and implement business processes to ensure YMCA Calgary fulfills recognition and stewardship obligations as defined in gift agreements.
- Coordinate and support bursary programs.
- Delegate, organize and coordinate the support and participation of other staff and volunteers in delivery of events.
- Strategize with volunteer team to engage and communicate with volunteers; Facilitate and manage corporate volunteer engagement.
- Train and engage volunteers to support Fund Development activities as necessary.
- Support data management in Raisers Edge to ensure accuracy of information and quality content to support donor and prospect management.
- Manage and utilize software applications to support activities, such as Gratavid and Constant Contact.
Assist, as assigned, in the development and implementation of other Fund Development activities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications include:
- Two-three years experience in donor relations or customer service;
- Post-secondary education an asset;
- Ability to work and think independently, manage tight deadlines and multiple tasks with a high attention to detail;
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities;
- Well-developed writing, presentation and verbal communications skills;
- Strong experience and proven ability with donor stewardship, sharing impact and reporting;
- Strong experience and keen interest in event management;
- Proven ability to develop cooperative and positive working relationships with staff and donors;
- Exceptional customer service skills: professional, personable, and comfortable interacting with event attendees, donors, volunteers, and staff at all levels of the organization;
- Energetic, enthusiastic and confident around people;
- An understanding and respect for the confidential nature of fund development;
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office and Raiser’s Edge experience would be considered an asset;
- Three professional references;
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
- Work environments include office settings in YMCA Calgary’s location and on occasion this role may complete work tasks from home if needed.
- This is a 40 hour per week position and is non-exempt from the YMCA Calgary Lieu Time Agreement.

SALARY RANGE
- Salary: $43,272/year – $54,090/year
