National Philanthropy Day® (NPD) is a special day celebrated annually on the fifteenth of November. The purpose of this day is to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions of philanthropy – and those people active in the philanthropic community – have made in our lives, our communities and our world.

National Philanthropy Day celebrates our vibrant philanthropic community and honors individuals and organizations whose philanthropic achievements have made an impact in our region. It is an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of those who help transform our community through their hard work, financial contributions, and dedicated service.

This is a very special year for AFP Calgary & Area Chapter as we mark our 30th anniversary. In honour of this milestone, and to assist our next generation of fund development professionals, we have launched our Legacy Campaign. This campaign seeks to raise funds for scholarships for professional development opportunities. Supporting this campaign with donations of $30 or more, will provide opportunities for individuals to advance their skills and knowledge, at a time when professional development budgets are tight.
