Position Details | The University External Relations Office is currently accepting applications for a Faculty Development and Engagement Officer (FDEO). The Faculty Development and Engagement Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing initiatives that support the overall growth of stakeholder engagement (community, alumni and donors) and revenue from donations and sponsorships for the faculties of Fine Arts and Education.Reporting directly to the Director of Development, with joint direction and accountabilities of the directors of Development, Alumni Relations and Community Engagement, the Faculty Development and Engagement Officer will work closely with the Deans and staff of the Faculties of Fine Arts and Education, as well as external volunteers, vendors and stakeholders.The FDEO will creatively and proactively find opportunities to align donor, community and alumni interests with institutional and faculty priorities and elevate public and community engagement. As part of the External Relations priorities, the incumbent will be responsible for the full execution of alumni engagement and event strategies. Additionally, as the fundraising and development lead within both faculties, the FDEO will manage a portfolio of approximately 100-150 prospective and current donors and sponsors, providing an excellent level of stewardship and service.The incumbent will understand and be capable of enthusiastically articulating faculty priorities and initiatives both in person and in written communications to external stakeholders. The successful candidate must also be comfortable collaborating with and motivating senior executives across the institution, as well as Deans, volunteers, stakeholders, and supporters to accomplish their goals.Key priorities for the incumbent within the first year will be: 1) planning and executing a signature fundraising event on behalf of each faculty, 2) development of faculty specific alumni engagement and fundraising plans. |
Position Qualifications | Undergraduate degree in a related discipline;Proven experience in frontline fundraising or relationship-based sales;Ability to develop strategies for and implement annual gift solicitations;Ability to work autonomously on a multitude of relationships, tasks, and areas simultaneously;Experience and success in planning and executing large scale events;Knowledge of a variety of fundraising tools and strategies, as well as experience with the giving cycle;Ability to understand the needs and interest of donors and to transform alliances into relationships;Dedication to promoting the university’s fundraising priorities through a passion for higher education;Superb interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills;Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment;Committed to being an outstanding, contributing, interdependent team member with a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness;Excellent problem solving abilities, judgement, and discretion;Ability and willingness to travel, work independently with occasional evening and weekend work. |
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) | $60,505.52 – $76,116.32 annually |
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) | $60,505.52 – $91,727.11 annually (APO – Grade 3) |
