Fund Development Officer
Permanent Full time (40 hours/week)

Reporting to the Director of Development & Special Projects, the Fund Development Officer is responsible for implementing best practices and driving development relations efforts including major gifts, special events, donor cultivation and solicitation, foundation and corporate relations.  Our Fund Development team is small but mighty.

The Fund Development Officer brings a breadth of skills and knowledge to the team, is a can-do, go-getter who would like to move up in their fund development career. The goal is to advance the organization’s position with relevant stakeholders, as well as to drive a broader profile for the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years related experience, a proven track record of raising funds from a variety of sources; including major gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations and government organizations. Required competencies for this role include;

  • Demonstrated results in soliciting corporate sponsorship and philanthropic fundraising.
  • Demonstrated expertise in prospect identification and research, event fundraising, board relations, donor cultivation and stewardship.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strategic leadership
  • Understanding of Canada Revenue Agency guidelines for tax receipting of charitable gifts
  • High level written, oral and presentation skills
  • Ability to connect with a variety of audiences
  • Innovation, creativity and problem solving abilities
  • Familiarity with donor tracking systems
