WATCH RECORDING
(Note that the recording was started a few minutes in, so the introductions were cut off)

As fundraisers, we are all watching with some concern around what impact “social distancing” and “self-isolating” will have on us and those we interact with on a daily basis during and after the Covid-19 pandemic and what this potentially means to our causes and our fundraising.

Lorie Abernethy, MA, CFRE, AFP Calgary & Area Chapter’s Past President and Calgary’s 2019 Outstanding Fundraising Professional, will host the discussion with special guests Scott Decksheimer and Leah Eustace as we find creative new ways to maintain our social supports, connections and maybe even sense of sanity.

Scott Decksheimer, President and CEO, Partner of ViTreo Group Inc has been a leader in the nonprofit field for more than 20 years. He has primarily supported organizations in transition by utilizing his skills in team development, major gifts, board governance, and capital campaigns. Scott loves a complex challenge and helps to deliver clear direction when needed most. In 2017, Scott was appointed to be the inaugural chair of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Canada, a new organization dedicated to growing and supporting the profession in Canada. He remains active at the local and international levels of AFP as well. Scott was honoured by the AFP Calgary & Area Chapter as the 2013 Outstanding Fundraising Professional in recognition of his career in fundraising and support of the profession.

Leah Eustace, CFRE, ACFRE, is President and Head Paddler at Blue Canoe Philanthropy, where she specializes in copywriting and storytelling. She’s also a member of The Case Writers, a small group of writers and designers who work with some of North America’s most impactful nonprofits. Her volunteer work is extensive: she’s Vice Chair of Professional Development on the AFP Global Board and sits on the ACFRE Credentialing Board. Leah is an AFP Master Trainer, a Stability Leader and is currently studying philanthropic psychology through the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy.
