Consider joining us at Alzheimer Calgary, where shared values and fresh ideas meet the ambition, energy, and encouragement to move them forward. We’re searching for the right person to join us part-time (0.6) as a Philanthropy Officer. This position reports to the Director of Philanthropy.

In your role, you will be accountable for leading the coordination and execution of Alzheimer Calgary’s signature fundraising event, the annual IG Wealth Management Alzheimer Walk & Run. Taking place in October, the event has continued to grow over the last 32 years. In 2023, over 1,500 participants raised over $350,000. This event brings the community together to honour those impacted by dementia and raise funds to support ongoing Alzheimer Calgary programming. Throughout the year, you will also support other fundraising activities as needed, including digital and email campaigns and supporting community fundraising.

In your role, you will ensure projects are positioned to deliver set goals through careful planning, effective management and coordination, teamwork, and ongoing evaluation. Overseeing an Event Coordinator on logistics for the Walk & Run, you will ensure event planning stays on track, looking for opportunities to
strategically grow the event and reach a bigger audience. In your other work, you will identify and execute opportunities to grow digital campaigns, community fundraising, and other activities.

The right candidate understands the impact of a donor-centered approach. You have a positive attitude, enjoy connecting with donors, and are committed to growing Alzheimer Calgary’s profile in the community. Our ideal candidate has demonstrated expertise in events management and fundraising. Excellent time management, attention to detail, and communication skills (oral and written) round out your qualifications.

By 2030, dementia diagnoses in Canada are expected to double. Alzheimer Calgary, fueled by a new and innovative strategic plan, is committed to leading with our influence and expertise to help people impacted by dementia to live well, and we build community capacity to support them. The need for our local programs is growing – you can help ensure help is here, now and in the future. We take pride in maintaining a flexible, team-oriented work environment. This part-time role will have flexibility in determining exact days and/or hours of work, in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy. We offer a hybrid work environment, competitive salaries, and an excellent benefits package including health, dental, employee assistance program, and a health and wellness spending account. We are an organization that supports employee professional development, work life balance, and employee wellness.
