DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR, WESTERN CANADA

The successful incumbent has some fundraising skills having a minimum two years of experience in a non-profit setting.
Reporting to the Director Development, Western Canada, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination of the Calgary Centre office in addition to supporting annual giving, tribute cards, events, donor relations, stewardship and processing of donations for Western Canada.
The Development Coordinator will assist in stewarding an existing donor base and coordinating volunteers.
The successful candidate can work autonomously with limited supervision, is a self-starter, highly organized, able to multi-task, work in a team environment and has strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 2 years of fundraising experience having worked in not-for-profit sector
Knowledge and familiarity with Raiser’s Edge preferred
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Zoom, SharePoint, and Google Drive
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
Ability to positively represent CHW to external constituents in both verbal and written communications
Strong attention to detail required and ability to coordinate people and tasks
Ability to multi-task and with strong time management skills
Ability to work autonomously, limited supervision, must be task oriented, ability to take direction
Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets
Excellent telephone and e-mail etiquette and strong ability to communicate
Professional character that is consistent, capable, reliable, well-organized, flexible, personable, and can maintain composure in a changing and growing environment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as first point of contact for inbound calls for Western Canada
Ordering and maintaining office supplies and cards
Prepare and mail centre cards as required
Update Raisers Edge donor records for contact information, death notices etc.
Support the National Office Development and Data Management Office Assistant as required for work overflow
Gift and acknowledgement processing as required
Processing of all card orders, pledges and gifts for credit cards and cheques as required
Merge and mail acknowledgment letters as required
Donor follow-up – cc info, monthly renewals, etc.
Track incoming planned gift intentions in RE, send acknowledgement letters for Legacy Circle membership/pins
Prepare and file all correspondence and reports to RE as required including update database with donor information, address changes, memorial notices
Respond to donor or volunteer inquires by telephone, e-mail, fax and any photocopy requests
Respond to requests from donors and volunteers
Follow up invalid credit card numbers or other donation issues to assist Director, Finance and Operations as required
Process returned mail and research new addresses to update database
Maintain supply of pamphlets/brochures, campaign materials, correspondence/files, stationery supplies, tribute/holiday/memorial cards
Maintain donor and prospect records for all donors in Western Canada
Ensure the tracking and fulfillment of donor pledges within portfolio and timely acknowledgement letters for gifts $1,000+ and as requested from community or family foundations
Help maintain and enhance CHW’s reputation and awareness
Provide annual reports to donors regarding the impact of their gift as instructed
Help coordinate all Western Canada fundraising, cultivation and stewardship activities such as meetings, programs, and events in collaboration with the national team and Director Development, Western Canada
Provide admin support for all Western Canada Centres, lay leadership, Director of Development
Support Calgary Centre’s Executive and committees
Help with accounts payable and pledge receivables as required by Director, Finance and Operations
Bank deposits as required
Prepare and send memorial communication emails for Western Canada and Calgary Centre
Timely response to donor requests and response by telephone, email, fax within 24 hours
Support team by answering national phones as required - • Review Jewish newspapers in Western Canada to advise stakeholders of death
notices of CHW members
• Volunteer recruitment and relations
• Participate on the Development Committee and Development Team meetings
• Prepare all donor prospect research as requested Nationally
• Other duties as assigned
YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
- • The incumbent will be required to work in a one-person office located in
Calgary
• Occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours.
EDUCATION
• University degree or post-secondary diploma
• CFRE considered an asset
