Position DetailsThe University External Relations Office is currently accepting applications for a Stewardship Communications Advisor. This is a full-time, continuing position reporting directly to the Director of Community Engagement. This position is responsible for planning and executing communications and recognition programs that deepen relationships with donors, alumni, and community members to advance the University’s key priorities and inspire continued philanthropy.Working closely with frontline fundraisers and University leadership, this position will play a key role in directing and implementing a comprehensive stewardship program, working to ensure stakeholders are delighted by the gratitude, acknowledgement, and recognition they receive. With a thorough understanding of institutional priorities and key messages, the Advisor will create and manage a suite of stewardship materials, including acknowledgement letters and communications, impact reports and stories, as well as other associated assets.With an understanding of the link between stewardship and cultivation, the Advisor will be responsible for the development of materials to support prospect strategies with leadership, annual, and major giving relationship managers. The Advisor facilitates the maintenance and regular review of stewardship activities, ensuring the technological, operational and communications requirements of the stewardship program are met and seeks to improve operations and reporting through broader campus involvement. Collaborating with team members throughout External Relations and across the University, the incumbent will enthusiastically seek out opportunities and actively motivate others to contribute content and information to be used for stewardship purposes.
Position QualificationsA post-secondary degree, preferably in communications, business, development or a related field.Superior written and verbal communication skills and proven experience working within existing brand guidelines.Strong collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work well in diverse teams and operate with a high degree of tact and diplomacy.Advanced organizational and time management skills. Proven ability to prioritize and complete tasks while working in an environment with multiple competing deadlines.Well-developed research, synthesis, analysis, writing and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare reports and recommendations. Demonstrated ability to support a high-impact customer-focused service environment.Experience advising clients and colleagues, and negotiating project scope and timelines would be an asset.High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)$4,701.00 – $5,323.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)$4,701.00 – $5,945.00 monthly (AUPE – Grade 11)
