JOB SUMMARY :
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic-minded Director, Resource Development, to lead our efforts in expanding community support and securing essential resources for BSF. Reporting to the Executive Director, International Healthcare & Chief Social Impact Officer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and vision through effective fundraising strategies.

SUPERVISED BY Executive Director – International Healthcare and Chief Social Impact Officer
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive resource development strategies aligned with organizational goals and budgets.
- Fundraising Excellence: Oversee all fundraising activities including grants, major gifts, annual appeals, and special events, ensuring robust
donor stewardship and cultivation. - Team Leadership: Manage a team of dedicated professionals, fostering innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Partnership Development: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance donor relationships and community
engagement. - Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all fundraising activities.
- Communication Strategy: Work closely with the Communications and Marketing team to align messaging and enhance visibility through
various channels including social media.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- CFRE designation desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
Experience & Competencies
- Experience: 10+ years in nonprofit resource development with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of fundraising principles, donor engagement strategies, and CFRE designation preferred.
- Visionary Leadership: Proven ability to conceptualize and implement strategic initiatives that drive organizational growth.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills with a track record of building successful partnerships.
- Organizational Acumen: Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage budgets, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing environments.
- Passion: A commitment to the mission and values of BSF, coupled with a dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: in accordance with Alberta Health Accommodation Standards, a criminal record check must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Irregular schedules and additional hours during peak times as needed
- Working in the evenings or Saturdays may be required
- Requirements to travel between sites (own transportation)
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
- Office Environment: Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in same location with liberal opportunity to move about.
Occasionally required to stoop or lift light articles. - May involve a considerable amount of computer work that may cause eye strain, headaches or ergonomic concerns.
