Overview of the Role

We seek a consultant to deliver exceptional fundraising counsel to our clients. You will have direct hands-on responsibility for managing client projects and relationships. We therefore seek someone with exceptional fundraising credibility who can share their learnings, and partner closely with TDG’s experienced senior leadership.

Success calls for being organized, energetic, client-focused, and able to effectively prioritize. TDG consultants are self-starters able to work independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Providing strategic fundraising counsel to clients.
Serving as project lead for a range of projects in TDG’s service offerings, which include but are not limited to: campaign counsel; feasibility studies; program reviews; skills coaching.
Providing exceptional service to, and maintaining excellent relations with current and past TDG clients.
Collaborating with TDG colleagues in a supportive, collaborative, and kind manner.
Being an active contributor at team meetings, planning sessions, and brainstorming.

Desired Qualifications and Competencies

TDG is a supporter of a diverse and inclusive sector, so we encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds, underrepresented groups, and different learning styles and abilities.

Our ideal consultants also possess:

Understanding of the consultant-as-expert dynamic
Significant fundraising experience
Comprehensive campaign experience
Major gift fundraising abilities
Coaching skills to lead others to success, particularly high-level volunteers
Great fundraising writing skills
Cantonese and/or Mandarin language abilities would be welcome to support key client projects.

Ordinarily, some travel may be expected, as would regular attendance in our Lower Lonsdale office. We prefer someone Vancouver-based, but for the right person the 250, 403, or 778 area codes could work too.

We are aiming for compensation in the $80,000 – 100,000 range, plus benefits, and are open to someone compelling to join us at a higher salary. We work in a trusting and collegial manner, and it’s crucial that all staff are kind and have a sense of humour.
