We are currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our Resource Development team as the Resource Development Manager. This full-time position will start in August 2024 and will be working on-site at Windsor Park location. The hours of work are 8 AM – 4 PM (Monday to Friday). It is a condition of employment at Providence that all employees are vaccinated against COVID-19.

Position Summary:

The Resource Development Manager will work as part of a team to support all fundraising and community engagement efforts. The role is responsible for developing, planning and coordinating fund-raising strategies and activities while assuring accurate records and timely reporting. The role also includes identifying, cultivating stewarding and soliciting major gifts. The Manager will develop and implement strategies for prospective and current major donors and fundraising opportunities.

The ideal candidate:

  • Collaborative team member with desire to work in the community, education and non-profit sectors.
  • Computer and numerical literacy, comfortable working with data bases and metrics. Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Strong verbal communication skills. Demonstrate effective and professional public speaking.
  • Excellent written communication skills -includes day to day communication, preparation of business letters, reports, and statistical data.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines and prioritizing competing demands.
  • Self-motivated, strong ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be flexible to work outside of their scheduled hours for meetings, events, etc. 
  • This position requires driving within Calgary.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate annual resource development and stewardship strategies/plans in order to achieve annual targets.
  • Identify, cultivate, steward, and solicit major gifts.
  • Develop and implement strategies for prospective and current major donors and fundraising opportunities.
  • Research, prepare and submit high quality grant applications and proposals.
  • Work closely with the CEO, resource development team and fund-raising committee.
  • Implement creative strategies and quality stewardship that inspires donors to make multi-year commitment and/ or stretch gifts.
  • Develop and monitor the annual resource development and communications plan budgets according to established timelines.
  • Recruit, train and oversee volunteers and committee members.
  • Other administrative duties including timely donor recognition, ability to create and track budgets, maintain and update Raiser’s Edge database, create consistent and up-to-date contact reports.
  • Implement and contribute to the digital strategy. Monitor and supply social media and website content.
  • Have a full understanding of AFP and organizational donor policies. 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a relevant degree or diploma in fundraising, public relations, non-profit management from a recognized college or university is required.
  • CFRE designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of five years fundraising experience with demonstrated comfort in asking for large gifts. 
  • Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and MS Office proficiency including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in developing proposals and grant applications.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Must have own vehicle, possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and $2,000,000 liability insurance.
