YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre (“YouthLink”) is a cutting-edge police museum and educational non-profit organization where crime prevention and community policing are at the heart of everything we do.  Through hands-on exhibits, experiential learning and empowering programs, our students, and visitors, can learn about and understand the role police play in community safety.  YouthLink has a particular focus on empowering youth and their families with the tools necessary to make safe and informed decisions around crime-related issues.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of YouthLink and for creating and implementing the organization’s strategic direction set together with the Board of Directors. 

The Executive Director will promote the vision of YouthLink and should be a visionary leader and excellent communicator, with a proven track record for strategic development.  This position calls for an individual who has sound knowledge of the not-for-profit industry and is personable and passionate about conceiving and nurturing relationships in the community. They will work with the Board to secure adequate funding for the operation of the organization and manage regular submissions of financial statements.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with public speaking experience, be comfortable giving presentations to donors, community leaders and government, a strategic thinker who evaluates options and actions based on trends in the environment, and the vision and values of the organization and have proven leadership in establishing collaborative and effective working relationships with a Board of Directors and both internal and external stakeholders. Some assets would include knowledge in a policing and/or education environment, previous experience successfully leading a non – for – profit organization or experience working with collections and collections care in a museum setting.
