SUMMARY
Located in Calgary’s vibrant Beltline neighbourhood with community hubs and thrift stores throughout the city, WINS is an impact-driven social enterprise connecting women and their families with resources to thrive. We are currently seeking a Manager of Fund Development to join our growing team.
This role will provide support in all aspects of Fund Development with an emphasis on researching new Fund Development opportunities, preparing grant proposals, connecting with new donors, and engaging current supporters.

WINS is celebrating 30 years of making a difference in the lives of thousands of Calgary women and their families. We provide wrap-around support to women experiencing abuse, poverty, social isolation and homelessness. Through WINS’ social supports, more than 14,000 Calgarians every year are helped on the journey towards empowered and resilient lives. Beyond this social impact, our social enterprise thrift stores keeps 4.1 million pounds of material out of Calgary landfills!
ABOUT THE ROLE
Embracing the mission, vision and values of WINS while advancing the organization’s strategic goals, the Manager of Fund Development will:
- Elevate WINS’ current fundraising portfolio with strategic advancements in key areas of individual giving, grant research and writing, and corporate partnerships
Build authentic, meaningful relationships with key supporters by leading with donor-centered inquiry, empathy and an unwavering commitment to WINS’ mission
Prioritize efforts to create exceptional donor experiences throughout the donor life cycle through impactful communications and personalized connections
Use data to support strategic segmentation for solicitation and stewardship activities
Contribute positively to a values-based team culture that is supportive and collaborative; high-performing and impact-driven
Act as a well-informed and trusted ambassador and spokesperson for WINS at internal and external presentations, donor meetings and community events
Contribute to the development and delivery of the annual Fund Development plan including fundraising goals and KPIs
Deeply understand and pursue with excitement the unique fundraising opportunities available to WINS as a social enterprise that prioritizes impact and innovation
LEAD COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrated ability (and passion for) hitting fundraising targets
Proven effectiveness in fundraising campaigns and activities, donor stewardship individual donor solicitation and grant writing
Experienced and skilled at building long-term authentic relationships
Exceptional verbal and written communication, public speaking and presentation skills
Proven experience in managing multiple projects
Positive, enthusiastic attitude and personal values of integrity, discretion and professionalism
Skilled in the use of data to drive fundraising results and proficient with Salesforce, Microsoft Office and Canva software
Experience with social enterprise, particularly in the women’s sector, considered an asset
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree in a related field
3+ years of recent fundraising management experience
CFRE designation held or being pursued
Active AFP and/or CAGP membership
