We are seeking a passionate Associate Director, Philanthropic Programs to join our small and vibrant team of dedicated staff inspired by the meaningful work we do.

The Associate Director, Philanthropic Programs is a leadership position supporting the overall strategies and objectives of the Foundation and staff development.  Primary responsibility is to develop and manage Foundation programs, including all Annual Giving programs and campaign strategies to fulfill our mission.  This key position drives Foundation revenue, systems, and process improvements.  The incumbent will be committed to building long-lasting relationships based on understanding our donor interests, passions, and values.

Key priorities include:

  • Develop annual plans to increase stakeholder engagement, grow new donors and increase support levels
    Ensure the Foundation uses a full suite of current and effective annual programs and campaign development strategies to increase the donor base and meet Foundation goals
    Provide operational management for all fundraising campaigns
    Provide oversight and integration of cross-department projects to grow and nurture a culture of philanthropy, donor-centricity and long-term relationship building
    Manage the Grant portfolio
    Develop and implement Legacy Giving, Grateful Patient and mid-level donor programs
    Manage a small portfolio of donors and support major gift program initiatives
    Develop and implement change initiatives within the Foundation
    Support the ED in developing policies for the Foundation
    Manage fundraising database programs including integrity and timeliness
    Support development of the Foundation Budget
    Maintain responsibility for all mentoring and performance measures for reporting positions

Qualifications:

University degree plus a minimum 5 years of progressively responsible fundraising leadership experience with a proven record of managing fundraising programs and gift solicitations. Management of capital campaigns an asset as is knowledge of healthcare environments. Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Suite programs including excel, word, PowerPoint, and/or specialized programs that may be in place such as Raiser’s Edge.
CFRE preferred.

Working Conditions:

Hybrid work model. Clean, temperature-controlled office space.
May involve travel to other IH or Foundation locations as part of the networking process.
Mix of regular office hours and weekend and evening hours as required.
As the VJH Foundation operates within the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, all staff must be fully vaccinated (Covid) with at least two doses of an approved vaccine.
